Brief personal introduction:

I work with Special Education students with Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Behavior Disorders, and Cognitive Disabilities with overtones of ADD/ADHD. These students have many problems with disorganization, inattention and impulsivity.

Overview of content/topic level of unit plan:

  • Include: Organization skills for student work spaces in grades 2 and 3.
  • The topic of the unit:Developing and Using an organized workspace/system.
  • The project idea—Students will identify areas in which they are unable to organize their materials, choose tools from among a variety of options, set up their space with teacher assistance, use and evaluate the system weekly with teacher (both Spec. Ed and regular ed. feedback). Hopefully when they see the benefits of consistent use, they will use these skills in their everyday lives as in cleaning and organizing their bedrooms for example.
  • I welcome any suggestions or new ideas for inexpensive organizing tools that you might have.

How do I add an Image or File to My Page?

    1. Select Edit tab then Click the File icon.
    2. Use the "Upload Files" button or "External Image" tab to select the image or file you wish to put on your page.
    3. Put the cursor at the position on the page where you wish to put the image or file.
    4. Click the image or file to put it on the page.
